Sandra Stanfield is a founding partner of Stanfield Bechtel Law, a law firm located at 100 Riverview Center, Suite 130, right off of Main Street here in Middletown. Attorney Stanfield graduated from Wesleyan University and earned her Juris Doctor with honors from the University of Connecticut School of Law. She has substantial experience across multiple areas of practice: legal, dental, and nursing home malpractice, employment and discrimination law, personal injury and workers’ compensation, professional negligence, insurance defense, premises liability, and contract disputes, as well as business formation.
She is admitted to practice law in the state and federal courts in Connecticut as well as state courts in Massachusetts and has represented both plaintiffs and defendants in her areas of practice. Sandra has tried cases and taken appeals before Connecticut state, appellate and supreme courts, as well as practiced before the Connecticut Claims Commission, the Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Workers Compensation Commission, and other administrative agencies. Sandra also was privileged to assist in submitting an amicus brief in support of Connecticut’s gay marriage rights case of Kerrigan v. Commissioner of Public Health.
When she is not assisting her clients, Sandra enjoys contributing to her community. She is an adjunct professor teaching new law students at the University of Connecticut School of Law. In the past, she has been a coach for the mock trial team at Amherst College, a mentor to the Westfield State University Law Club and she has also judged various moot court competitions at the University of Connecticut School of Law.
